Are you short-changing yourself? Do you hold back on how big you let yourself dream? Is it time for you to super-size your goals and dreams? You know the adage-life gives us what you ask of it? It's really true. Most people I know are timid about really "going" for it and have a lot of reasons and excuses as to why they can't have what they want, even those of us who feel like we are "big thinkers" could turn up the volume of our desires and aim higher and as a result create stunning successes that benefit not only ourselves and our business but truly make the world a better place.
I'm curious; if you could tell me right now, what your current big goals and dreams are.
Could you describe them to me in glowing, vivid detail? Don't be shy!
Do you believe in yourself and the power of your dreams? Let me share a story with you.
Recently I met Sean Stephenson, author of Get Off Your But and I can honestly say, I am forever changed.
Sean has an interesting, compelling and inspirational life story. Sean was born with a bone disease which stunted his growth and has kept him wheelchair bound. While he may only measure 3 feet tall, Sean's spirit, big heart, and optimistic "can-do" outlook on life is incredible and off the charts inspirational. Sean's list of accomplishments is a mile long.. In our short time together I learned a lot via Sean's formula which is heart's desires + the mind's focus, and pure intention = manifest miracles.
Sean hasn't let physical limitations crush his dreams. He's living testimony to-if he can do it, so can we! To his credit, Sean is a licensed psychotherapist, motivational and inspirational speaker who trains and facilitates groups internationally. When I met Sean, he'd just returned from Malaysia where he spent time with Virgin's CEO, Richard Branson. You can learn more about Sean by visiting his site, reading his new book Get Off Your But (The title is a very clever and effective play on words) and watching his new show on A&E "The 3 Foot Giant", which is slated to premier in fall of 2009.
What dreams of yours are limp, lifeless and need a shot of new life and energy? If you have the thought, and you have the desire-then honor your dream and take action on it today. As I learned from Sean, just get off your "but" (But... I'm too old, But... I'm not... But...) drop the excuses and claim what you want, AND take avid, inspired action. Dream it, design it and then go do it!
3 Keys to Transforming Your Dreams into Reality
Be Bold- Decide what you want. Pay attention to your desires. Your desires are the key to your new future. If you have lofty financial and business goals, what is the money for? How will you change your life? Your family's life? Your community? Your world? Dare to dream bigger! Dare to make a difference. The truth? You can!
Be Clear- Create and articulate clear intentional statements about what you truly want and desire. Really define your desires with strong language that conveys the essence and power of your dream. Keep these intentions close at hand. Create a vision board that has pictures and symbols of these powerful intentions.
Be Willing- Address the inevitable barriers that are "keeping" you from your goal. Get coached, move through these barriers once and for all. This step takes courage, persistence and a great coach or two! Well worth the effort though. Don't make the mistake of buying into your own excuses. They are simply that, reasons we make up and believe to be true. You can change and all it takes is your commitment and the support. Watch out world, because you are now on fire!
